Jill Laverentz
Owner/Principal
As Principal and Owner of KDS, Jill brings more than 35 years of commercial design expertise—which means she’s been transforming blank spaces into “wow” moments since before “open concept” was even a buzzword. Her portfolio spans everything from sleek industrial facilities to vibrant retail spaces and mixed-use developments, always with a knack for marrying creativity and functionality in ways that make both designers and engineers nod in approval.
Jill’s leadership style is part visionary, part collaborator, and part “let’s get this done right.” She’s known for pulling together teams that can translate a client’s vision into spaces that not only meet industry standards but leap over them gracefully (preferably without spilling the coffee). Her commitment? Crafting spaces that inspire, engage, and stand the test of time—because temporary trends are fine for haircuts, not for buildings.
Iowa raised and a proud Iowa State fan, Jill cheers for the Cyclones… though thankfully, her design choices are a bit more timeless than collegiate fashion.

Ashley Prince
Senior Associate
With six years of commercial design experience under her belt, Ashley is a driving force behind many of KDS’s most innovative and functional spaces. She has a talent for striking that perfect balance between “this looks amazing” and “this actually works,” whether she’s designing an office you’ll actually want to work in, a retail space that practically sells for you, or an industrial project that runs like a well-oiled machine (but looks a whole lot prettier).
Collaboration is Ashley’s superpower, and her attention to detail ensures no corner goes overlooked—literally. She’s passionate about creating designs that not only reflect each client’s unique personality but also make a lasting, positive mark on the community.
A proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Ashley is a registered interior designer in the State of Texas—proving she’s both certified and certifiably dedicated to her craft. And yes, she can still spot a bad floor plan from across the room.

Erika Longford
Associate
As an Associate at KDS, Erika blends creative problem-solving with laser-sharp attention to detail—meaning she can spot a design flaw before most people have even found the coffee machine. She’s got a knack for steering complex projects through the maze of deadlines, budgets, and client wish lists, ensuring every space not only works beautifully but is delivered without the drama.
Clients rave about Erika’s work (and sometimes about her calm demeanor under pressure), praising the skill, style, and determination she brings to every project. Whether it’s an industrial makeover or a high-end office space, Erika approaches each challenge with equal parts artistry and grit—like a design superhero in stylish shoes.
A proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Erika proves daily that great design is equal parts intuition, collaboration, and the occasional well-placed coffee break.

She’s committed to building a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and productivity—without ever losing sight of client satisfaction.

De Stijl (də-stīl′):
Dutch for "The Style" this art and design movement focused on simplicity, abstraction, and balance to create harmony through functionality.
At KDS, we draw inspiration from this philosophy, crafting spaces that blend form, function, and timeless design.
